A vendor-neutral spec for verifying and integrating 3D Gaussian Splatting scans.
3D Gaussian splatting is spreading fast, but every capture platform and viewer is a silo: there is no shared notion of what makes a scan trustworthy, or of how to embed one anywhere else. VSLS, the Vantage Scan Listing Standard, is a vendor-neutral proposal in two halves: a verification pass over how a scan was made and whether it behaves, and a machine-readable contract for dropping it into somebody else's product. Barnes Vantage is the reference implementation and first adopter, but the standard is built to travel beyond real estate.
The proposal is a vendor-neutral spec: a verification step plus a machine-readable integration contract, so a scan certified once drops into any listing, CMS or spatial platform without being re-checked by each one.
Trust has to travel with the scan, not with the platform that made it.
Implementation
Certificate and integration-manifest schemas, plus validated examples, live inside Barnes Vantage at its own /vsls route.
Shipped
Every scan runs the VSLS gate in the onboarding pipeline, carries a Verified by Vantage badge, and a recurring fleet audit re-checks the whole library.
In progress
The remaining proof points: a public verification endpoint per scan, and a second adopter outside Vantage to prove the standard travels across capture sources and host platforms.
